2.3 Frank Cage

Summer 1995, Frank's & Leroy's place

The music was playing loud from the speakers. Frank looked around his yard, finding that his friends already were busy with the party. He spotted the new face immediately. 

"Hey, you're Paolo's girlfriend, Sofia, no?", he asked. "Welcome here!" 

She didn't reply, but rather was trying hard not to stumble over her high heels while doing some movements that he guessed should be supposed to be dancing.

He would have to talk to Don, to not give anymore alcohol to the girl.

Don was drunk already too, so maybe it was no use, Frank capitulated.

"Hey, Don! Make me more of that drink too!", he heard Diana ask.

At least she seemed still somewhat sober. Frank almost wanted to go over after all, but then Don replied, "Wait your turn!"

So at least that Don understood.

As usual, the hot tub was something everyone enjoyed here. But instead of steaming hot, the water was cool, to give a refreshment from the still burning sun.

Diana didn't seem to get anymore drinks from Don, and finally joined them.

"Frank, why you have no decent house, but a frickin' hot tub!", she laughed.

"It's all about priorities!", he replied with a wink.

"Fuck, my balls!" Paolo sqeaked out suddenly.

"You're such a tard!", Leroy, Frank's younger brother laughed. He was so right.

Sofia seemed to finally have found her voice again. Frank heard her talking some nonsense to Nina, which used to be the youngest around here until now. They seemed to get along well.

Rosa was happy too. Since she officially dated that singer from her workplace, she barely talked about anything else. Could be almost annoying.

When the sun set, Leroy lit a doobie.

"Hey, gimme that stuff too!", he heard Diana begging. He almost wanted to interfere, but Leroy already declined, "Nah, Frank's gonna kill me!"

Good boy.

This was the good life, Frank decided. And now that Diana moved here, it would be even better, because he could take care of her again. And he knew his friends would do so, too.

It looked like nothing bad could happen anymore.
