Baby trouble

17.1 Diana Foster
Autumn 1997, Newcrest hospital

Diana rushed towards the door, when she heard a voice calling her.
"Hello Diana! You finished your shift?"
It was Dr. Hayashi. Diana had been moved to another infirmary lately, and they hadn't met a lot since then.
"Hello Dr. Hayashi!", she greeted him. "Yes, I'm done for today."

"I'm almost done too", he said. "Down the street opened a new diner, I'm going to try it out today. Would you like to join me?"

Diana was already late.
"Oh sorry...", she replied, really regretting it. It would have been nice to catch up a bit.
"But I have to hurry to pick up my daughter from daycare. Maybe next time?", she offered.

Dr. Hayashi looked surprised. "You have a daughter?"
Diana wondered if she hadn't told him yet.
But she really had to go.

"Yes... sorry, but I have to leave now!"
She was already half out of the door.

Outside, it struck her suddenly.
Had this been an invite to a date?

Diana sighed.
She would love to go on a date again!
But it wasn't easy to juggle between a stressful job and taking care of a toddler...
She basically never found any time for herself.

  2. I feel so bad for Diana. She works hard at her job and parenting that she never has a minute to herself.

  4. Aw poor girl, she needs R&R. She needs a man who knows that too. Not just any guy. The responsible kind!

    1. She does, poor girl! But she has been so busy with her dream job, daughter and friends, that she completely forgot about dating hehe.
I think we could blame some bad experiences too for that 😂

  5. Get Frank to babysit and go get that cute doctor, Diana! Hopefully he won't be scared off by her being a single mum. Though if he did scare off by that, he probably never was worth it anyway.
